It’s Friday, it’s been a long week, and I’m craving a burger. But to change it up a little, I’m giving this burger an Asian flair. Teriyaki marinated patties, hoison & cilantro mayo, topped off with grilled pineapple and onion rings. Happy Friday, ya’ll!
For 4 Burgers
- 1 1/4 ground beef (80/20 fat ratio)
- 1/4 – 1/3 C. Teriyaki Sauce
- 4 Pineapple Rings (fresh or canned)
- 8 Onion Rings, cute 1/4″ thick
- 4 Onion Buns
- Hoison Mayonnaise
- Handful mixed greens
Pour teriyaki sauce onto ground beef. mix by hand until just combined. Form into 4 patties. Season tops with salt and pepper. Grill patties to desired temperature.
Brush pineapple and onions lightly with olive oil. Grill for 2 to 3 minutes on each side. They should be softened with light grill marks. Lightly toast buns.
For assembly : spread mayo on the bottom of each bun. Top with burger, pineapple and onion. Top with small handful of mixed greens.
Hoison Mayonnaise
- 1/4 C. Mayonnais
- 1 T. Hoison Sauce
- 1 T. Cilantro, finely chopped
- salt and pepper to taste.
Combine all ingredients. cover and refrigerate for 1 hour before using.
Absolutely sounds wonderful and easy for a Friday nite
Start to finish, I would say about 25 low-key minutes. And The Man has said “wow, that’s a really good burger” at least 6 times in the last 30 minutes…. :)
sounds wonderful!
